Jean-Paul Buu-Sao has over 20 years of experience in software development, business process engineering, and IT consulting for information security solutions. Jean-Paul is member of the TSCP Design Authority team since 2006, where he contributes to delivering the TSCP architecture. Jean-Paul has recently contributed the Business Authorization Framework (BAF), a foundation for interoperable policy expression, together with the Business Authorization Identification and Labeling Scheme (BAILS), a TSCP standard for interoperable security labels on information objects. Starting 2011, Jean-Paul will serve as lead architect for the Information Labeling and Handling (ILH) project, that aims at using commercial off the shelf (COTS) components; supporting the BAF and BAILS specifications.

Prior to joining TSCP, Jean-Paul was an Enterprise Architect at CapGemini, a System Architect at SWIFT, and a senior R&D Software Engineer at Borland International.

Philipe LaFlandre serves as the TSCP Governance Board Chairman. After 15 years working with the Police and Intelligence Philipe began his executive career in the private industry including the Disney Corporation (10 years), and other major entertainment and events companies (Futuroscope and Stade de France).

He joined Airbus in 2005 as Vice President Head of Security where he started to address information security. He is now Head of the EADS Corporate Trust Center (ECTC) within the Cybersecurity Center of EADS-Cassidian. Concurrently, he is the Secure Collaboration VP for the newly created digital European Hub BoostAerospace. Finally, he is the chair of the Transglobal Secure Collaboration Program (TSCP), which defines the specifications and international security standards to establish interoperability within the A&D industry.

 

 

Don Schmidt

Don Schmidt is a Principal Program Manager / Architect in the Directory, Access and Information Protection Group at Microsoft.  He is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of Federated Identity and Attribute-based Access Control.  His current focus is developing the architectural foundations to address customer business requirements, regulatory policies and standards obligations for identity and data protection in a hybrid (on premises -- cloud services) environment.  For over 15 years Don has served as a trusted advisor to many of Microsoft's premier corporate and government customers.  He is a member of the Architecture Board of the Transglobal Secure Collaboration Program, an international consortium of aerospace & defense manufacturers, government agencies and military organizations. 

Don has extensive product development and standards experience at Microsoft.  He provided architectural leadership for the SAML 2.0 functionality delivered in AD FS 2.0 and the Windows Identity Foundation.  As Lead PM, he wrote the functional specifications and led the development teams for Active Directory Federation Services v1, Windows Cross-Forest Trust, Kerberos extensions for Protocol Transition & Constrained Delegation, and the Site Server / MCIS Membership System.   Don is one of the authors of the OASIS WS-Federation standard, and a contributor to US federal identity standards and policies, such as NIST SP 800-63 and the FICAM SAML 2.0 profile.

A 25+ year veteran, Keith's day job is director of security and identity management for Northrop Grumman.

He is recognized as an Information Technology executive and has business management experience in leading, managing and developing complex mission critical programs and solutions, fostering and building new business relationships and alliances within a high-technology environment; developing solution and marketing strategies; and, implementing and executing new business plans and models. He is known as an expert on security and identity management in enterprise-wide mission-critical environments, and is a regular speaker at industry and government conferences.

Dennis McCallam is an accomplished senior security professional and recognized security subject matter expert experienced in security systems design, operation and certification and accreditation.

Mr. McCallam is currently the director of Cybersecurity Technology for the Information Systems sector of Northrop Grumman. In this role, he is tasked with the corporate cybersecurity mission and works to develop cross-sector cyber architectures and solutions. He advises senior management on cyber-related issues, trends, analysis and solutions. He held previous roles as the principal architect for Cybersecurity and the chief security architect for Northrop Grumman, and was an FBI certified information systems security officer for a multi-agency use analysis project.

Mr. McCallam has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently enrolled in the doctorate of information security degree program at the University of Fairfax. He has served as a United States delegate to several NATO task groups, most recently as a member of the NATO Task Group on Protecting the Core Network and the Exploratory Team on Network Enabled Capabilities. He is a certified secure software lifetime professional and FBI certified ISSO, and has a CNSS Information Systems Security Professional 4011 certification.

Mr. McCallam has two patents and four patent disclosures in cybersecurity and has delivered numerous papers at cybersecurity, information security and information assurance symposia both in the U.S. and overseas. Mr. McCallam has 34 years of experience in the development and applications of real-time software. He enjoys the challenge of developing new theoretical concepts, ensuring that they are properly researched and architected, and then moving them into reality.

Colin Nash is the Business Development Manager for Deep-Secure Ltd - suppliers of the DeepSecure® range of high assurance products designed to support the secure sharing of information over a range of protocols in environments where security is paramount.

Colin has been with Deep-Secure for over four years, he joined them after 10 years with QinetiQ, formerly the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA), where he was responsible for conducting extensive research and providing advice on Information Assurance and Information Operations across a wide area of Government and Defence. For the last 4 years of his time with QinetiQ Colin managed a key business group within the Trusted Information Management Team. Much of this work involved projects covering high security in both the Defence and Public Services Sectors.

Colin's early career in Information Assurance and Information Operations was with the British Army, where for 25 years he was a member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and worked with Information Technology and Communications Systems, retiring as a Captain in 1996.

For nearly 15 years Colin has been an active member of AFCEA and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award in 2010 for his services. He is also a dedicated member of the UKCeB and is involved in several Working Groups including the Secure Information Sharing Programme Board.

Colin has a Computer Science BSC from the UK's Open University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Information Security and Computer Crime from Glamorgan University.

Steve Shepherd joined UKCeB in January 2005 as Executive Director to help drive the mission of 'transforming secure information sharing for through life collaboration in defence acquisition and support' with the UK MOD. This is achieved through the activities sponsored through the MOD / Industry Joint Information Group and the Joint Support Chain management Steering Group. These strategic responses to the business drivers from the government strategic review, stakeholder consultation and defence acquisition reform includes jointly agreed architectures and underpinning global standards, a global approach to secure information sharing and priority issues for effective through life and end-to-end support. A major consultation process in underway to review the strategy and road-map for information enablement across the defence enterprise to set the way forward for the next 5 years.

UKCeB is an independent, not-for-profit company funded by its membership and provides a consistent and independent voice for the Defence Industry in its niche space. UKCeB draws its membership from all levels of the Aerospace and Defence Industry supply chain, the supporting IT Service Providers and Consultants, and the founding Trade Associations; A|D|S and Intellect.

Steve is seconded from Rolls-Royce with whom he has worked for over 41 years. After graduating from Oxford University he has worked in Advanced Engineering, Customer Support, Marketing, Project Management and overseas as a Rolls-Royce management representative. He also spent 5 years in Supply Chain/Procurement. He then spent 6 years in Civil Aerospace as Project Executive on the Rolls-Royce/BMW collaboration and Director of Quality Systems, Improvement and Information Technology for the Rolls-Royce Airlines business. Between 2001 and 2004 he ran a corporate Centre of Competence covering all processes from the first touch of a customer, through the selling, support and service phases. Between 1999 and 2005 he also led the European Sector of the 50+ company International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG).

Steve is a Director of the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust and is Vice-Chairman of the (European) ASD Product Support and the ASD Strategic Standardisation Groups and represents Europe on the (Europe/US) ASD AIA ILS Spec Council. Steve is a Member of the Institute of Directors

Married with 3 children Steve is an avid Notts County Football supporter; their ups and downs over the years fit well with his strong interest in blues music.

Mr Håkan Kårdén holds a Master of Science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
 
Mr Kårdén is the CEO and Board Member of Eurostep Group and was one of the founders of Eurostep in 1994. In this role, Mr Kårdén has lead Eurostep through its global expansion and to its current position as world class experts in the design and implementation of standards based PLM collaboration solutions. Previous to Eurostep he worked seven years at Digital Equipment Corporation as a consultant and advisor to large organizations like ABB, Swedish Defence, Saab, Volvo, Ericsson etc.
 
He is currently serving as a Board member of PDES, Inc in USA. He is Organizer and Programme Responsible for the annual PDT Europe Conference.
 
Mr Kårdén has presented at several conferences in Europe, USA and China mostly on topics such as Standards Based PLM Collaboration, PLM in Virtual Organizations and Agility.

Tim McKnight is vice president, Information Security for Northrop Grumman Information Systems' Cyber Intelligence division, supporting its broader mission areas to ensure that the organization brings integrated cybersecurity solutions to its customers. Mr. McKnight also serves as Northrop Grumman's chief information security officer (CISO), delivering Northrop Grumman's internal information security program, and is a member of the Corporate Security Council and CIO Council.

Mr. McKnight received the Information Security Executive of the Year Mid-Atlantic Award and Information Security Magazine Security 7 Award in 2007 for his work at Northrop Grumman and across the industry. In 2011, he was elected chairman of the board of the Internet Security Alliance, a multisector trade association focused on creating effective public policy leading to a sustainable system of cybersecurity. Mr. McKnight is also on the National Board of Information Security Executives, a nonprofit focused on workforce development in the cybersecurity field.
Mr. McKnight joined Northrop Grumman in 2003. His responsibilities have included developing the strategy and vision for Northrop Grumman's global computer and network information security systems; defining companywide policies for information security; and enhancing the security of Northrop Grumman's products, services and infrastructures.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Mr. McKnight was director of Information Security at BAE Systems North America; program manager in the corporate Information Security department at Cisco Systems; and special agent for infrastructure protection, corporate espionage and foreign counterintelligence with the FBI.

Mr. McKnight's significant career accomplishments include developing companywide policies for information security, establishing a global security steering group for international business, developing security risk and measurement methodologies, and interfacing with government customers and the Aerospace Industries Association. He was a founder and first president of the High Technology Crime Investigations Association, Delaware Valley chapter. While at the FBI, Mr. McKnight was lead special agent for all infrastructure protection. He was recognized by the FBI director for his accomplishments in cybercrime, and investigated and prosecuted numerous national and international hacker cases, economic espionage cases, and violations of federal criminal copyright and trademark laws.

Mr. McKnight has a bachelor's degree from Rutgers College, New Brunswick, N.J. He is also a certified information systems security professional and completed training with the National Security Agency in the areas of information security assessment methodology, operating secure networks, and advanced system security and exploitation. In addition, Mr. McKnight was a police training instructor and served on the FBI's computer analysis response and evidence response teams. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown Univesity.

Steve Whitlock is chief strategist for Boeing IT Information Security. In this role, he provides strategic support for Boeing's long term information security capabilities. This includes the tracking of emerging technologies and the changing threat landscape, as well as helping to influence the direction of the information security industry in support of Boeing's global presence.

With more than twenty-five years of research in information security and cryptography, Whitlock has provided strategic input to numerous global agencies, and has served on writing and steering committees for the Intelligence and National Security Association, Internet Security Alliance, Defense Information Base Technology and Architecture Working Group, Trans-global Secure Collaboration Program, and Enduring Security Framework Activity. He has served on the Program Committee for the annual ID Trust conference sponsored by NIST, ACM, OASIS and Internet 2 for eight years.

He currently serves on the Jericho Forum Board of Management and is Vice Chair of the Open Group Security Forum. Steve has a master's degree in software engineering from Seattle University.

Col Boots joined the Royal Netherlands Air Force in 1975.  After more than 10 years working in several assignments in Air Defence, he joined the IT branch of the NL MoD.  

He specialized in Command and Control Systems, but also worked in the fields of human resource and logistics.  He is currently assigned to the support command/ IT Division where he is responsible for several programs in crisis and disaster management within civil military collaboration.  Within this assignment he is also responsible for secure collaboration between public and private collaboration and cybersecurity.  

Col Boots is the NL MoD representative on the TSCP Governance Board.

In the position of Director of Global Strategy Architecture, Malcolm is responsible for the Corporation's overall information management and technology strategy and architecture. This provides the policies, processes, standards and leadership to deliver coherence across all of BAE Systems plc's businesses in all countries.

Prior to this Malcolm held a number of positions covering both operational IT service delivery, IT policy and engineering roles in a number of engineering companies in defence, oil gas, power generation, and marine engineering industries. He has international experience having lived and worked in The Netherlands for nine years during which time he led the team delivering all information systems and communications services to operations in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Thailand and the UK.

Malcolm holds a BSc in engineering from the University of Bath and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh. He is represents BAE Systems on a number of industry and government liaison bodies including being a member of The Corporate IT Forum's Strategic Advisor Board, sits on the Governance Board of the Trans-global Secure Collaboration Program and on the Exostar LLC Security Executive Committee.

Scott is the Chief Strategist for Identity and Access Management at Lockheed Martin. In this role, he is responsible for identifying trends, defining roadmaps, and supporting deployment of I&AM capabilities across the enterprise. Scott's responsibilities also include tracking industry direction, working with key suppliers, customers, and partners to understand and align their r oadmaps. Scott has nine years of architecture experience in the I&AM field, including directory services and authentication, access management, account provisioning, identity federation, and smart card rollout.

Within TSCP, Scott is Lockheed Martin's member to the Architecture Board. In the five years that Scott has been a member of TSCP, he helped to develop the DSIF federation profile, the BAILS labelling scheme, the Business Authorization Framework, and the Secure Email v2 concepts. He also participates in the Export Control Working Group, bringing technical and policy knowledge in the areas of ITAR and UK Export Control.  Scott helped to develop the foundational architecture behind the current Information Labelling and Handling project and was instrumental in developing the technical roadmap framework used by the Architecture Board.

Dr Simon Wiseman is the Head of Development for Deep-Secure Ltd - suppliers of the DeepSecure® range of high assurance products designed to support the secure sharing of information over a range of protocols in environments where security is paramount.

Simon joined Deep-Secure Ltd in 2010 following over 30 years research on Security for UK Ministry of Defence in the Research Establishments, including Royal Signals and Radar Establishment (RSRE), Defence Research Agency (DRA), Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) and QinetiQ ltd, Malvern.

Simon was the prime technical focus behind the development of the Domain Based approach to security that was adopted by the Ministry of Defence and then incorporated into HMG Infosec policy. He was the Technical Architect for QinetiQ's SyBard range of desktop and guard security software and hardware, providing strategic direction and producing innovative ideas for improving defences, several of which are protected by patents.

As a subject matter expert, Simon's pioneering work has led to techniques for handling classified information with mainstream commercial software, the Domain Based Security method of risk assessment and development of network security guards performing deep content checking. His current role within Deep-Secure has continued this work and he has developed the DeepSecure Guard technology to manage multiple types of security labels and the transformation between them.

Simon has over 50 published papers and has filed 19 patents on various aspects of Computer Security.

Simon has a Computer Science BSC from Reading University and a PhD from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, which was based on Research carried out at RSRE..

Thomas J. Smedinghoff is a partner in the Privacy, Data Security, and Information Law Practice at the law firm of Edwards Wildman Palmer, LLC in Chicago. His practice focuses on the developing field of information law and electronic business activities, with an emphasis on electronic transactions, identity management, data security, privacy, and corporate information governance issues.

Mr. Smedinghoff has been actively involved in developing e-business, e-signature, data security, and information legal policy both in the U.S. and globally. He currently serves as Chair of the Identity Management Legal Task Force of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Business Law, and chair of the International Policy Committee of the ABA Section of Science Technology Law. Previously, he was chair of the ABA Section of Science Technology Law (1999-2000) and chair of the ABA Electronic Commerce Division (1995-2003). He is also a member of the U.S. Delegation to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), where he participates in the Working Group on Electronic Commerce and helped to negotiate the international e-commerce treaty titled the United Nations Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts and the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Signatures. He is also the ABA Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission Committee to Implement the UN E-Commerce Convention (2008 – 2010), and served as an ABA Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission committee that drafted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act

Mr. Smedinghoff is also the author of the book titled Information Security Law: The emerging Standard for Corporate Compliance, (IT Governance Publishing, 2008). He is also the editor and primary author of the e-commerce book titled Online Law: The Legal Guide to Doing Business on the Internet (Addison Wesley, 1996), as well as numerous articles on electronic transactions, privacy, and data security law issues.

Richard has worked in the defence and aerospace sector throughout his career and is currently IT Strategy Manager within the Office of the CIO at BAE Systems. In this role Richard contributes to the development of the Company's IT strategy and manages activity in strategic development areas. A significant ongoing activity is the representation of BAE Systems within the Trans-global Secure Collaboration Program (TSCP) which has led to his involvement in the development of TSCP specifications for secure e-mail and federated authentication as well as their implementation within BAE Systems. As Chairman of the TSCP Architecture Board, Richard is now also involved in setting the direction of development for future TSCP specifications. Richard has been an active participant in UKCeB for many years and is currently Chairman of the Collaboration Infrastructure Working Group. Richard holds an MBA and a BSc(Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering and is married with two children. Away from work he enjoys sailing, skiing, walking and photography.

 

 

Peter J. Woudsma

Peter J. Woudsma is a C4ISR technology engineer in the Technology and Human Factors (THF) branch at NATO Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation (SACT) in Norfolk, Virginia. He investigates and coordinates C4ISR technology insertion opportunities and the demonstration of proven information technologies, in the THF laboratory and on other locations. He assists in the development of reference architectures and further enterprise mapping activities, such as the improvement of the 'NATO C3 Classification Taxonomy'. He maintains various repositories of emerging information system technologies and human factors improvement opportunities, of identified C4ISR capability gaps and future C3 information system requirements (including the 'Tidepedia'). He is involved in the organization of meetings, workshops and demonstrations with industrial, academic, NATO and National partners.

He graduated from the military academy in Electronics and Logistic Management, followed further training in military communications, and later specialized in Information Systems Management.
