Secure E-mail v.1 Documents

Brief descriptions of each TSCP Secure E-mail v.1 document are listed below along with a download link to each. The first two documents, the Technical Specification and the Technical Profile, form the groundwork for Secure E-mail, and promote the understanding of the remaining supporting documents. The Technical Specification and the Technical Profile are required reading for enterprises that plan to implement Secure E-mail.

Technical Specification sets forth requirements for the design and implementation of a technical solution for secure e-mail; it is mandatory for implementing enterprises.

Technical Profile provides configuration requirements for solution elements. It addresses the business requirement to protect information in transit by applying technical constraints and controls to the selected solution elements. It is also mandatory for implementing enterprises.

High Level Design describes the design details of solution elements, high level flows, and an overview of in-source and out-source infrastructures.

Requirements to Enterprises articulates requirements to the enterprises that are using the TSCP Secure E-mail v.1 capability.

Requirements to Services Providers defines solution element requirements for Service Providers who may provide diverse services to Outsource Enterprises using TSCP Secure E-mail V.1.

Requirements to Community Service Providers outlines the functional and operational requirements of the Community Service Provider (CSP) for TSCP Secure E-mail v.1.

Requirements to Vendors articulates requirements to vendors who produce software for Enterprises and Service Providers for TSCP Secure E-mail v.1 solution elements: E-mail Client, E-mail Gateway, End User Certificate Repository, Certificate Lookup Service, Certificate Authority and Certificate Path Discovery and Validation Services.

PKI Trust Framework sets forth configuration requirements for PKI solution elements. It discusses the secure e-mail business objectives and requirements related to trust fabric, trust model and trust framework, the building blocks that form the foundation for secure collaboration using Secure E-mail.

Gateway Design Principles describes Inbound and Outbound E-mail Gateways that will inspect encrypted e-mail.
